JACQUELINE COHEN
Senior copywriter
Becoming a copywriter happened by accident.
I'd studied Italian at university, joined and left the army, and then taken myself to London to work in PR. It was there that I discovered this wonderful thing called copy. I quickly found my voice and have since worked as a writer in the UK, the US and Australia.
Having immersed myself in so many different industries, people ask what’s my favourite. The answer isn’t shampoo or cereal, finance or healthcare. It’s taking a message, with all its nuances and jargon, and turning it into language that’s inviting, compelling and easy to understand.
I think about it like this. If I can get my head around the workings of a complex banking process, software system or medical condition, anyone can. My job is to write it so they can.
